Ali Campbell Concert is Postponed

by isleofman.com 18th March 2011
The management of the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre regret to announce the billed performance by Ali Campbell, scheduled for March 24, has been postponed. All ticketholders are being contacted to be advised of the postponement and will be offered exchanges. It is hoped the concert, featuring the former lead singer of UB40 and his band, can be re-scheduled for later this year. Hon David Cretney MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure, commented: ‘I am sorry that people will be disappointed not to see Ali Campbell this month. Unavoidable operational issues have prevented the concert going ahead next week but we are discussing other potential dates for Ali Campbell to perform as part of his international tour.’ As lead singer and founding member of one of the most successful reggae bands in the world, UB40, Ali Campbell is famous for iconic tracks such as "Red, Red Wine" and "Kingston Town". He has toured the globe for 30 years, currently with a 17 piece band featuring a large brass section. Updates available online at www.villagaiety.com or follow us on facebook. -Ends-
