Bus Fare Revision and Discount Tickets

Due to continuing increases in operational costs and budgetary restraints, adult and child bus fares are to increase. From Sunday 27th March 2011 the increase to adult single fares will be: · From 90p to ?1.00 e.g. Douglas local · From ?1.10 to ?1.20 e.g. Douglas to Onchan · From ?1.60 to ?1.80 e.g. Douglas to Glen Vine · From ?2.30 to ?2.50 e.g. Douglas to Airport · From ?2.70 to ?2.90 e.g. Douglas to Ramsey · From ?3.00 to ?3.20 e.g. Onchan to Port Erin Child and Return fares will increase in proportion. The Night Owl fare remains available at double the standard fare and continues to represent excellent value for late night travellers. The recently introduced ‘Short Hop’ fare remains unchanged, so passengers will still be able to board and travel up to 3 stops for only 50p. 12 journey Manx Rider ticket prices will also be increased, as follows: · Fare Bands A & B from ?10.00 to ?11.00 · Fare Band C from ?16.00 to ?18.00 · Fare Band D from ?18.00 to ?22.00 · Fare Band E from ?25.00 to ?27.00 · Fare Band F from ?28.50 to ?30.00 The Manx Rider ticket continues to offer a significant saving on on-bus tickets. Other great money saving options remain available through various multi-journey, Explorer and Bus Saver tickets which offer unlimited travel and continue to offer great value for money. Residents’ Season Tickets remain the same price as last year, at ?50 per adult, ?25 per child and are valid for unlimited travel on all scheduled Manx Electric Railway, Snaefell Mountain Railway and Steam Railway services during the operational season. A new ‘Rail Card’ is also available and entitles the holder to 50% discount on travel on any of the scheduled services on our three railways. In addition, the Rail Card also has a detachable section which entitles the holder to a discount of ?5 (adults) or ?2.50 (child) off one of our many special events, such as the Hop-tu-naa Ghost Trains and Snaefell Sunset Dinners.
