Hyperbaric Chamber “Just Giving” Boost!

by isleofman.com 25th March 2011
There is excellent news from the Isle of Man Hyperbaric Chamber. The Isle of Man Hyperbaric Medical Facility which is one of only 24 operating throughout the UK is operated in Peel Rd, Douglas by the Kevin Gray Memorial Trust and helps hundreds of Island residents every year to gain relief from chronic medical conditions and injuries One year on from its founding, the "Friends" of the Island's Hyperbaric Chamber have launched a new website - A new site which will enable its visitors to discover more about the outstanding work of the Hyperbaric Facility. The Friends is an entirely voluntary group which provides its time and expertise to promote awareness of the hyperbaric facility and the immense benefits it provides not only to divers but to many Island residents who are suffering chronic medical conditions, illnesses and injuries unrelated to diving. Chairman of the Friends, Michelle Haywood said "We would like to thank all the hard working groups and individuals who have contributed this year. A huge thank you must go to the web designers at Three Legs who donated their time to this project." Features of the new site include: • Create a Just Giving page of your own and the facility for visitors to the site to make much needed donations to the foundation • Information about hyperbaric oxygen therapy • The encouragement of public involvement in fund-raising activities. • Join The Friends in assisting them with their efforts. • A downloadable sponsor form for would-be fundraisers to print Website co-ordinator Ean Radcliffe said of the new website, "We are really excited about the 'Just Giving' facility on the site which allows fundraisers to build their own fundraising page which they can personalise with photos and messages and share with their friends either by email or Facebook and iPhone apps. Building a page is really easy and completely free". Summer is around the corner. The Friends' organisation is looking forward to some great up-coming Island events such as the Parish Walk which will inspire Islanders to raise money for local charities. The Friends hope the new website will encourage Manx residents to support this praise-worthy cause and whether you are a social media fan; just prefer a printable sponsor form or would like to join the Friends organisation the website which can be found at www.hyperbaric.im will allow you to do just that!!
