Fatal Road Traffic Collision, Appeal for Witnesses

At approximately 4.25 pm on Monday 28 March 2011 a fatal road traffic collision occurred on the Peel to Douglas Road, in the area of the Hawthorn public house. The incident involved three vehicles; A blue coloured Renault Modus which collided with a silver / grey coloured Suzuki GSXR1300 motorcycle, then being ridden towards Peel. A blue coloured Ford Mondeo was in the immediate vicinity, also travelling towards Peel. As a result of the collision the rider of the motorcycle received fatal injuries. The drivers of the Renault and Mondeo have been traced. The road was closed for approximately 2 ? hours whilst Police conducted enquiries at the scene. At the time of the collision, there was a fair amount of traffic on the road. Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision to make contact to assist with the investigation. The next of kin of the motorcycle rider and the Coroner of Inquests have been informed. ENDS
