by isleofman.com 29th March 2011
Last Saturday, many members – junior and parents and seniors turned up to say “Farewell” to club coach, Colin Hanbidge who has been at the club for over 3 years. Colin has returned to his native Scotland to a club coach role in Perth. Almost all the Saturday Mini members were there to say Goodbye and Thankyou, joining in on court activities once their coaching session had finished. Play continued on the outside courts and was concluded with a fish or sausage and chips tea, delivered piping hot from the Terrace Chippy. Club Chairman, Stuart Colligon on behalf of the club presented Colin with a digital photo frame which had been filled with photos taken by various members during his “term of office” and several other gifts and cards.Colin thanked everyone saying he had enjoyed his time at the club and suggesting it might not be his last visit to the Island. He hopes to bring some players from Perth over at sometime for a tournament or matches. From 1 April, the new club coach will be Ian Watson, former IOMLTA Development Officer. Ian hopes to continue and build on the current programme but bringing more senior play to the club over the whole week.
