Organisations open to young people are invited to take part in a fun day being held in the south of the Island in May.
The Southern Multi-Agency Team event takes place on Sunday 15 May from noon to 4pm at Ronaldsway Sports and Social Club.
It provides a chance for young people of all ages to try their hand at pastimes, sports and hobbies that are held on their doorstep but that they might not have considered before.
There will be opportunities to have a go at climbing, diving, tennis, football, rugby, cricket, bowling, badminton, dance, table tennis, basketball, playing a musical instrument and many other activities.
The Department of Education and Children’s Youth Service, Army Cadets, Air Cadets, the Community Youth Bus, St John Ambulance and many more organisations that support young people to achieve their potential will be present.
There will also be a giant car boot sale, face-painting, refreshments and fun arts and crafts for the whole family.
Karen Davies, chairman of the Southern Multi-Agency Team, appealed to other organisations to take part, saying: ‘The idea is to give young people a taste of what your club, organisation or team can offer and possibly unlock a hobby or talent that they will enjoy for life.’
The event follows a successful inaugural one in September 2009. Signed up already to take part for the first time this year are the Mannin Angling Club and Health Promotion.
Admission is free but there will be buckets in which to place donations.
All proceeds from the day are going to Sport Erin, which supports young people in the south to take part in sport and stay healthy.
