PokerStars – 30 v Vanilla Room – 42
Vanilla Room had the edge during the entire match, as they beat PokerStars in a closely fought match. PokerStars came out strong at the beginning of each quarter, but would then fade, as Vanilla took the momentum. Once the gap hit 12 goals, it never really ventured too far from there, with both teams scoring regularly. Opportunities to score became scarce, for both sides, as the game reached its end.
PoTM: Lisa McAdam (Pokerstars); Ruth Kinnish (Vanilla Room)
C&S Joinery C - 35 v Thompson C - 8
It was a match that should have been closer, but an injury to a Thompson shooter, scuppered their chances. C&S took a while to capitalise on the player advantage, but once they did, there was no stopping them. With an unassailable gap in front of them, Thompson began to ring the changes, in the hope it could improve their position. C&S pulled out all the stops, in the last quarter, as they increased the points difference.
PoTM: Kira Longshaw (C&S Joinery C); Michelle O’Malley (Thompson C)
Ballasalla A – 37 v C&S Joinery A - 24
Both teams were eager to assert their authority on this game, before next weeks Cup final rematch. Balla, who remain unbeaten this season, we’re first to make a move and began to apply the pressure. C&S weren’t going to take it lying down and forcibly took the momentum, early in the second quarter. With all their effort, Balla were just too good for C&S, giving them the Premier Division title, by winning every single game.
PoTM: Ashley Hall (Ballasalla A) v Lucy Slater (C&S Joinery A)
Ramsey A – 18 v Team DQ – 21
The tempo, in this game, was fast from the beginning and didn’t relent once, during the four quarters. Ramsey really piled on the pressure at the start, scoring with regularity, helped by the errors from DQ. After a brief period DQ were able to reduce the mistakes and took control of the game. Ramsey was forced to defend hard, which they did, to prevent DQ from picking up too many goals. This match could have gone anyway, with both teams missing several chances to score.
PoTM: Tilly Davis (Ramsey A) v Helen Bradford (Team DQ)
Route 1 – 45 v Thompson A – 15
Thompson made the stronger start, creating many attacking chances, but struggled to convert anything. They began to falter, towards the end of the first quarter, as Route 1 claimed ascendancy. Route 1 dominated the middle part of the game, as Thompson struggled to make any sort of impact on the game. The dying moments of the match were frantic, both teams hurriedly tried to add to their score. Victory for Route 1 ensures they comfortably retain second place in the premier division.
PoTM: Tracy Dentith (Route 1); Kirree Kermode (Thompson A)
Anglo Manx – 10 v C&S Joinery B – 47
Vanilla Room’s victory meant C&S Joinery had to win, to ensure their second place in the First Division. They didn’t beat around the bush, in trying to do this, building a big lead almost immediately. Anglo Manx were the first on the scoreboard, but it was a while before they got their net one. The third quarter proved best for Anglo Manx, as they made more chances for themselves, but had difficulties in translating them in to goals. C&S’ quick passing and good talking skills helped them to get around Anglo Manx, in the last league games of the season.
PoTM: Netty Mooney (Anglo Manx) v Lucy Titley (C&S Joinery B)
