What Doctor’s Do When There’s Nobody Looking

by isleofman.com 1st April 2011
Professor Trevor Norton will be visiting Onchan Library on Tuesday 26th April @ 7 p.m. to give an amusing talk about ‘What Doctor’s Do When There’s Nobody Looking’. There will be a book signing, and refreshments will be served. Trevor is the author of books combining science, history, literature and memoir. He also has a knack for finding humour in places where others wouldn’t look. At the heart of all his writing are tales of extraordinary people doing extraordinary things. In his latest work, ‘Smoking Ears and Screaming Teeth’ the focus is on scientists, engineers and medics who experimented on themselves rather than expose others to risk. Their stories rage from absurd to tragic and inspiring. Admission is free, but as space is limited, ticket only. Please book places by calling in to Onchan Library, Willow House, Main Road, Onchan, or tel. 621228, or e-mail Onchan.library@onchan.org.im Details of other ‘Food for Thought’ talks can be found on the library web site www.library.onchan.org.im ENDS
