Manx Connection at Old Firm Cup final

by isleofman.com 5th April 2011
Two children of Britannia International staff were selected by The Co-operative Group to be flag bearers at the recent Old Firm Co-operative Insurance cup final at Hampden Park between Celtic and Rangers. There were 30 flag bearers on the day including Jesamine Corran (10) and Tony Clague (12). Jesamine’s Dad, Paul works in Britannia International’s Douglas office along with Tony’s Mum, Janice McDonald. The match was won 2-1 by Rangers and Tony’s Mum Janice commented, “Not only was he overwhelmed with the crowd and atmosphere, the game went to extra time. His team Rangers won so seeing them lift the cup and parade round the park was the perfect ending to a magical day.” Jesamine added, "While I was standing on the pitch the crowd were so loud. The atmosphere was amazing, it was a brilliant day!" Britannia International is part of the Co-operative Group and this opportunity was provided as part of Co-operative Insurance’s sponsorship of the Scottish League Cup. ENDS
