Wet ‘n’ Wild in Ramsey

Crocodiles (of the inflatable variety), together with 90 young people, took part in the annual Wet ‘n’ Wild event at the Northern Swimming Pool on Saturday 26 March. Organised by the Department of Education and Children’s Youth Service, the event saw fun competitions held in two age groups for the 16 competing teams. Six teams took part in the school years 4/5/6 competition, the results being: Yrs 4-6 Points 1 Ballaugh Play Club 1206 2 Laxey & Lonan Play Club 1318 3 Sonic Southerners 1337 4 Michael Play Club 1589 5 Peel Play Club 1639 6 Onchan Squids 1666 Members of the Ballaugh Play Club team were Andrew MacLeod, George Melvin, Isla Curphey, Alexandra Whitfield and Alex Phillips. In the event for school years 7 and over, Team Balla took first place, with Laxey Youth Club a very close second. Members of Team Balla were Nicole Burns, Holly Black, Josie McGarrigle, Olivia Perry and Georgia Perry.
