Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team are appealing for witnesses following the theft of monies from the Gelling’s Farm egg honesty box situated just off the Main Road in Baldrine. The money was taken between 7:30am and 7:45pm on Wednesday 6th April.
PC 85 Bryn Griffith stated ‘It is a shame when ‘honesty’ boxes are targeted. This is one of few left around the Island and relies on, as the name suggests, people’s honesty. It is obvious the person who has done this has no conscience and has seen this as an opportunity to gain from other people’s good will. I would urge the person who has done this, or any person who has knowledge of this incident to inform the Police. This can be done by calling the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.’
PC 85 Griffith can be contacted at Onchan Police Station on 675190 or on the Isle of Man Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
