Meanwhile, a walker in the south Walk and Talk group has become one of the fastest walkers to complete 3,000 miles in the programme.
On Monday April 4 Dorothy Georgeson notched up her 3,000th mile, walking round Poulsom Park, Castletown, and the National Sports Centre.
Dorothy started Walk and Talk in February 2006 and, after slowly building up her weekly mileage, she has become one of the fastest to reach the 3,000 milestone, for which she received a special edition 3000miles Walk and Talk jacket and certificate.
Dorothy said: ‘The health benefits have been fantastic. I feel so much better, and have lots more energy.’
