President and Speaker Publish Report on Tynwald Activities

by isleofman.com 11th April 2011
The President of Tynwald and the Speaker of the House of Keys have published the Tynwald Annual Report on the year 1st October 2009 to 30th September 2010. The publication has been produced to promote Tynwald to a wider audience and includes background material about the structure and functions of the Manx legislature, together with an account of activities between October 2009 and September 2010 in the areas of legislation, committee work and engagement at home and abroad. There is also a section on the work of the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald and a series of photographs illustrating the gravity of the world’s oldest continuous parliament, as well as some of the lighter aspects of parliamentary life. The report is being distributed to parliaments in other jurisdictions through their presiding officers, and copies will be given to Tynwald guests and other visitors to the Isle of Man throughout the coming months. The report is available from the Tynwald Library in the Legislative Buildings, Finch Road, Douglas. It may also be viewed and downloaded from the Tynwald website by following this link: http://www.tynwald.org.im/papers/reports/2010-2011/r0018.pdf. Ends
