Tune in to see the Isle of Man showcased on ‘Gimme A break’ this Thursday 14th April at 5.45pm on CBBC channel.
This is the programme where children take control of the family holiday and the parents don’t get a look in! They decide where the family goes and what they do from day to day.
Sisters Megan Perks, aged 10, and Beth Perks, aged 12, from Hertfordshire are tired of their family holidays always being in France, and decide to plan a holiday with a difference in the Isle of Man, where they take control of the family holiday instead of their parents. They were offered two different holidays, based on what they had asked for, where they chose to visit the Isle of Man.
The programme promises to be action packed on an island full of adventurous activities which includes coasteering and kayaking. They also go in search for seals and basking sharks, take a trip in a vintage car and camp on the beach enjoying a slice of bonnag cake.
Gimme A Break is transmitted on CBBC Channel and BBC2 and is repeated a number of times on both channels. It has been getting 500,000 viewers per week and was number one out of the top 10 programmes for children in Broadcast magazine last year. It is a popular family show as well as for kids aged 5-15. Parents usually choose to watch this show with their children which is all about the family having a fantastic time, showcasing all the really amazing activities you can do in the chosen area and frequently inspires families to visit the destination featured.
This is yet another fantastic high profile piece of coverage for the Isle of Man which was organised in conjunction with the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development’s Tourism Division.
