At about 9.30pm on Friday 15th April 2011, ambulance personnel were called to an address in Ormley Avenue, Ramsey, in response to a report of a 17 year old girl being unconscious. The girl concerned was unresponsive and despite the best efforts of medical professionals, she was declared dead on arrival at Nobles Hospital. A 35 year old man who was present at the Ormley Avenue address was arrested and has been interviewed over the weekend at Police Headquarters, Douglas. He has now been released on bail. On Sunday 17th April 2011, a post mortem examination was conducted by a Home Office Pathologist. The cause of death has not been ascertained at this time and further forensic testing of samples will be required before the cause of death can be established with certainty. The Coroner of Inquests has been notified of the death. ENDS
