‘Number 73’ Open for Business

by isleofman.com 18th April 2011
‘Number 73’, Age Concern Isle of Man’s second-hand furniture shop in Circular Road, Douglas, has been officially opened by Douglas North MHK John Houghton. Mr Houghton, who praised the charity for its vision and invaluable contribution to the Island’s over-50s, was joined by Age Concern supporters, staff, board members and chief executive George Quayle who said that not since 2004 had there been an Age Concern shop in Douglas. He continued: ‘From the day we announced we were to open Number 73 the response has been magnificent. People have been extremely generous in donating good quality furniture we’ll be offering for sale at reasonable prices, with the proceeds going towards benefiting older people in the Isle of Man.’ Mr Quayle also took the opportunity to thank the staff of Age Concern for their hard work in preparing the shop that he declared was now very much ‘open for business.’ Number 73 Circular Road, Douglas is open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. To donate items, please call 613044. (Free collection can be arranged). Ends
