CYG2011 - Volunteers Still Needed

by isleofman.com 21st April 2011
Recruitment for Commonwealth Youth Games volunteers still open The Commonwealth Youth Games organising committee is still recruiting volunteers for September’s Games. Over 1000 volunteers, with a variety of skills and experience, will be needed to support The Commonwealth Youth Games ("CYG") which will be held on the Isle of Man 7-13 September 2011. Many businesses are offering their employees time off to participate, although the majority of shifts will be outside of working hours. Victoria Karran, volunteer co-coordinator for the committee said: “We have had an excellent response from the public and hundreds of people have already offered their time to volunteer. We’re still recruiting and everyone is welcome to apply. Hosting the Commonwealth Youth Games is a proud moment for the Isle of Man, being part of it will be fantastic experience and a great achievement for everyone involved.” The Committee is planning recruitment drives across the Island throughout the Easter and May bank holiday period. To find out more about volunteering and download an application form visit www.cyg2011.com or contact the CYG2011 Administration Office on 662011. Ends
