Revisions have been made to the Isle of Man’s bus timetable in response to customer feedback.
The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure is pleased to announce that the revised A5 format timetable, which includes all details of the service changes, will come into effect from Sunday 1 May 2011.
Implementation of the revised timetable is being advertised to bus travellers with notices, while notices containing details of individual service changes are being targeted at travellers on those routes.
Hon David Cretney MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure, commented: ‘These further changes, including the revised format of the timetable, have been made as I promised at the time in direct response to the feedback we have received since the implementation of the new timetable last year. We will continue to respond with further changes on an ongoing basis to ensure that bus services continue to meet the needs of both residents of and visitors to the Island.’
Service use and customer feedback was monitored for three months following implementation of the new bus timetable introduced on 13 September 2010. The revised timetable, including its new pocketbook format, are the result of customer feedback, following approval of the proposed service changes by the Road Transport Licensing Committee.
Minister Cretney added: ‘It is our intention to continually monitor customer feedback and service use and make future adjustments to the timetable as resources permit.’
The new A5 bus timetables are now available and can obtained from bus depots in Ramsey and Port Erin and at the Welcome Centre in Douglas Sea Terminal as well as online at www.iombusandrail.info.
•On Friday 29 April, the Royal Wedding bank holiday, a Sunday bus service will be provided with the ‘Night Owl’ service operating as normal.
