Busking Bookings Open for TT

by isleofman.com 26th April 2011
With the 2011 TT festival fast approaching, street entertainers are being urged to apply for a slot as early as possible by Douglas Development Partnership, the body that licenses buskers on behalf of Douglas Borough Council. Development manager Chris Pycroft said: ‘Buskers in the town centre add greatly to the festival atmosphere. As with Christmas, there’s a huge demand during the TT fortnight for busking slots. We’re hoping to broaden the range of acts this year so we’re asking anyone considering providing some form of street entertainment - be they musicians, jugglers, magicians, singers or poets - from first-timers to the more practised or those looking to raise money for charity to pre-book by Friday May 20 to be included in the timetable.’ Busking slots are provided free of charge. Applicants should indicate the duration for which the slot will be required. To apply contact town centre manager Gill Anderson, ganderson@douglas.org.im, telephone 612022, or call in to 7-13 Victoria Street, Douglas. www.ddp.org.im - Ends -
