Albany Tennis Club News

It’s all systems go at Albany This week it is reminders to all members of the different events that will be taking place from now to TT. Calling all the Albany Mini Tennis members – your Summer Mini Tennis sessions start this Saturday. Players are asked to turn up at the same time as their last session. The new Club Coach, Ian Watson plus Martin & Margaret will be assessing you all to see if you are ready to move to the next level. If you have young friends or siblings that haven’t tried Mini Tennis yet bring them along at 12noon or 1pm and they can have a Taster session. We do look for them to be club members after 2 or 3 sessions but their annual club fee will cover the costs of each weekend. Times are RED BALL -Saturdays 12noon,1pm,2pm and 3pm. ORANGE BALL Sundays 1pm, GREEN ball 2pm,3pm & 4pm. Any further details can be obtained by ringing Ian on 496293 or e-mail ianwatsonpts@manx.net. All course details are also on the club website albanyltc.co.uk. Now to the Senior players - the Annual Presidents Day competition for the En-tout-cas Shield will be held on Sunday 8th May. This is Mixed Doubles, draw for partners but keeping your individual scores. Entry fee ?6 including lunch. Entries by post or e-mail to Bryan Sharp, Ballabreck,South Cape, Laxey IM4 7BY or ballabreck@manx.net. Then comes the big tournament Chrystals Estate Agents with Men’s & Ladies Singles/Doubleswhich is open to non-members. Entry fee ?5 with entry on line by 12 May. www2.lta.org.uk/Search/FindACompetition. The committee are hoping that all members will support any events being held as fund raisers for the Indoor Court Improvemment Fund or volunteer to organise an event. Also remember the Club Lounge can be hired for family parties, etc. Contact Shelby to make a booking.
