An abundance of lap records were smashed throughout the Cadets and Honda Senior’s class in the Isle Of Man Kart Association’s round three of the championship which was held in perfect conditions at JCK Kart circuit Jurby on Sunday.
There was some excellent racing throughout the Honda Cadet class between Liam McCann and Craig Wade, but it was McCann that romped home claiming all three heats and the final in front of Wade and Antony Cawte third. McCann set a new lap record of 54.54s on heat 2 lap 8 at a speed of 43.18 mph.

There was some great racing in the combined Honda Senior and Honda Senior Heavy class. Andrew Johnson claimed heats one and three in the Honda Senior class also setting new lap records in each heat, this was not to be in heat two as he had a mechanical problem and had to slow down and nurse the kart home but then managed to set another lap record on lap 5 . The combined Senior TKM four –stroke and Rotax Max 177 class saw some intense racing between the Senior TKM four-stroke drivers with Dave Sutcliffe claiming the opening round and Daniel Bougourd the remaining other two other heats . The final saw some excellent racing between these drivers’ with virtually nothing separating them throughout the 14 laps but it was Bougourd who edged home to win by a tenth of a second from Sutcliffe and Chris Moore third. Bougourd set the fastest lap of 47.93s. Chris Swinden completed a full house of wins in the Rotax 177 in front of Geoff Thomas. Swinden set the fastest lap of 48.23s.
