by isleofman.com 27th April 2011
Kirsten and Aalin George travelled to Andover in Hampshire on Easter Sunday to take part in ”The Andover Saxon Shoot” - one of the few Record Status Junior National events to be shot in Britain each year. Aalin, having elected to shoot within her own age group (normally she chooses to shoot the longer senior rounds) to gain the much needed practice on the shorter distances that she will need for this years Junior European and World Championships dominated the event from the outset. She broke her own 3 year old Manx record and equalled the British National Record. Recording 144 hits, 142 golds with a final score of 1292 (out of a possible 1296), with maximum Scores at both 50 and 30 yards. Not to be outdone, younger sister and defending Champion of this event, Kirsten in her first competition back after breaking her wrist at Christmas, shot the same round as Aalin. She was also comfortably inside the old Manx Record (1250). She pushed Aalin all the way to the finish, and a worthy second place. Recording 144 hits, 132 golds, with a final score of 1276. - Ends -
