Art Exhibition at Vallajeelt

by isleofman.com 28th April 2011
Scoill Vallajeelt has created its own art gallery for the school’s community to view the creative talents of its young artists. Supported by the school’s teachers and its Friends’ Association who helped to display the artwork, the children have created their own Art Exhibition for friends and family members to visit. The exhibition will feature a variety of media and techniques in art and craftwork. The temporary gallery will also feature pieces of Art created by some of the teachers, for discerning visitors to acquire through a bidding process. The event will be taking place on Tuesday 3rd May and Wednesday 4th May between 3pm and 4.30pm. Head teacher Adrian Shorthouse said: “Art is a strength of our school and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the children’s creativity. We are very fortunate to have very talented staff and pupils who took full advantage of this wonderful opportunity.” Event organiser Mrs Patricia Cilliers said “We have had tremendous support from the teachers, parents and particularly the Friends’ Association who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help showcase the children’s work.” ENDS
