Damage caused at the Laxey Wheel. Between 5pm on Monday 25th April 2011 and 9am on Tuesday 26th April 2011 persons have entered the Manx National Heritage site for the Laxey Wheel. Damage has been caused to two wooden gates by persons kicking them from the hinges, also two oil service caps have been snapped from the metal chains securing them in place. The Laxey wheel is maintained to a high standard for visitors to come and enjoy this engineering masterpiece and it is disappointing to see there are people who do not respect it. Police ask anyone who has witnessed this incident or if anyone has any information which could lead to the identity of the offender or offenders please ring PC 242 DENTITH at Braddan Police Station on 852999. ENDS.
