Douglas Borough Council met on Wednesday, 4th May, 2011 to confirm Committee memberships of the Standing and Special Committees, to elect a Chair for each of the Standing Committees and to elect Members to serve on the Policy and Resources Committee for the municipal year 2011/2012. Mr. Councillor David Christian, J.P. was elected Leader of the Council and Chair of the Policy and Resources Committee. Mr Councillor Stephen Pitts was elected Chair of the Leisure Services Committee. Councillor Mrs. Carol Malarkey was elected Chair of the Public Health and Housing Committee. Mr. Councillor David Ashford was elected Chair of the Public Works Committee. The following Members were elected to serve on the Policy and Resources Committee in addition to the four Chairmen listed above, Councillors Mesdames Sarah Hackman, Betty Quirk, and Doreen Kinrade. The Membership of all Committees other than the Policy and Resources Committee remains the same for the forthcoming year. ENDS
