Olympic Legends To Share Secrets of Success

by isleofman.com 6th May 2011
Former world champion athletes Roger Black MBE and Steve Backley OBE are to speak on Monday May 16 at the Gaiety Theatre at an event sponsored by Isle of Man Sport and supported by Scottish Widows. The two Olympic legends will be giving a motivational talk, explaining what inspires sporting success and how that inspiration can be applied in day-to-day life and business situations. In the run-up to the London 2012 Olympic Games Roger Black is serving as an ambassador for Scottish Widows, supporting the company’s role as official pensions and investment provider of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Olympic silver medal holder also entered last year’s Scottish Widows’ Parish Walk, reaching Santon, and has pledged to enter this year’s challenge that starts at 8am on Saturday June 25. The event, which starts at 6pm and is expected to finish by 7.30pm, is free, open to the public and will include a question and answer session. Schools groups are especially welcome. Tickets are available from the box office at the Villa Marina, the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal, the National Sports Centre, Groves Road and from reception at Scottish Widows, Victoria Road, Douglas.
