Desserts with Dulcie

"Down the Pan" is the title of an hilarious talk to be given next week by Dulcie Lewis, who is a well-known columnist, broadcaster and writer. She hails from Wensleydale and is visiting the island as a guest of the WI. Dulcie has written a number of books on a range of subjects including alternative herbal remedies and the history of the toilet, appeared at a number of literary festivals, hosted a programme for Radio York and gained a reputation as an accomplished and amusing speaker. "Desserts with Dulcie" is open to the general public and will take place on Friday, 13th May at 7.30 pm at the Glen Helen Inn. A selection of desserts and tea or coffee will be served before Dulcie talks on matters lavatorial including outside privies, carbolic soap, mangles and tin baths! Tickets are ?11. 50 and are available from the WI Office in Bourne House, Bourne Place, Ramsey or 818194. ENDS
