Abacus shows support to the lsle of Man Hyperbaric Medical Facility 10 May 2011 (Douglas, Isle of Man) - - Local fiduciary and fund administration services specialist, Abacus, have donated over ?1000 to the Isle of Man Hyperbaric Medical Facility. The Douglas based company presented the Hyperbaric Chamber with a cheque for the sum of ?1,038 after it was chosen as their charity for the quarter back in December. The funds were raised through the company’s ongoing Charity Staff Salary Deduction Scheme, in which staff can donate a set amount from their salary each month into a charity pot. A different charity is chosen every quarter and the monies collected through that period, together with any monies raised from additional fundraising initiatives are donated to the chosen charity at the end of their quarter. This quarter, staff at Abacus donated ?519 from their salaries, which was then matched by the company to give a generous total of over ?1000. Shareholder Services Manager at Abacus and member on their Corporate Responsibility Committee, John Corteen said: “We are delighted to have been able to support such a worthwhile cause. The Hyperbaric Medical Facility treats an assortment of acute injuries and chronic medical conditions including, sport injuries, decompression sickness, exceptional blood loss and the healing of selected wounds. We are pleased to offer support for their ongoing hard work and treatments, which do rely on donations and fundraising.” - ENDS -
