Prohibition of Dogs on Douglas Beach

by isleofman.com 11th May 2011
Douglas Borough Council wishes to remind the public that from May 1 to September 30 inclusive dogs are not permitted on Douglas beach and foreshore between the hours of 10am and 6pm daily, under the Douglas Dog Control Byelaws 2008. Failure to observe the byelaws will attract a ?50 fixed penalty notice. The byelaws also require dog waste to be removed from Douglas beach at all times of the year; to facilitate this there is ample provision of bins the length of Douglas promenade into which the bagged waste can be deposited. The public is also reminded that dogs - be they on the beach, road, highway or permitted open spaces – must never be at large, but must be kept on a lead or under the effective control of a person aged 10 years or over.
