QEII High School’s Leavers’ Ceremony took place on 12th May 2011. The Guest of Honour, Mrs D. Gwinnell, C.E.O. of Big Fish, presented all Year 11 students with their Records of Achievement. Her speech, which was enjoyed by all, focused on achieving balance in life. She stressed seizing the moment, saying “the future is important but the most important moment of your life at any time is right now” Awards for the Student of the Year were presented by Mrs S. Dimelow of Miracles Ltd, who kindly sponsored the prizes. Student of the Year - Kirsty Pierce Student of the Year Runner-up - Moira Pain Student of the Year Finalists - Thomas Davenport, Katy Radcliffe and Alice Willoughby Gold Awards – Rebecca Beavis, Rachael Harrop, Jake Nathan, Kyle Shimmin and Zoe Tweedy Headteacher, Ms S. Moore said that she was very proud of all the students. She told them “this year you have demonstrated the difference that you make not just in our community in the Isle of Man, but within the global community. You have been fantastic ambassadors for us all.” Ends
