New Ramsey Hotel ‘A Vote of Confidence’

by isleofman.com 16th May 2011
Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Nigel Malpass has said the Ramsey Park Hotel development led by Island-based entrepreneur Trevor Hemmings represents a ‘vote of confidence’ in the town. The chairman was speaking after the first sod was cut at the site on Park Road opposite the Mooragh Park, where he was joined by Mr Hemmings, members and officers of the Commission, design team representatives and Ramsey MHK Allan Bell. Captain Malpass continued: ‘The hotel will be a major asset to Ramsey and could not be better located, with the sea on one side, Mooragh Park on the other and within walking distance of the town centre. I believe I speak for all the people of Ramsey when I say we welcome this investment unreservedly, which comes at an exciting time in the town’s development when we’re starting to see the first stages in the regeneration of Ramsey alongside the opening of the new tenpin bowling centre - all clear demonstrations of a positive future for the town.’ ENDS
