New Tax Director Appointed at Abacus

Abacus appoints Associate Director of Tax to develop and promote tax services and offshore tax planning solutions. Isle of Man based fiduciary services specialist, Abacus Trust Company Limited, is pleased to announce another key appointment in their ongoing strategy to refocus on tax driven structuring and their core UK markets. Andrew Cardwell has been appointed Director of Tax, as part of the company’s overall growth strategy and will lead Abacus in the development and promotion of Abacus’ existing tax services whilst exploring new opportunities, through the Group’s Isle of Man and Malta offices. Managing Director, Chris Talavera said: “Our latest appointment complements our plans to further develop and promote our existing tax services offering. Andrew has a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of tax and we are positive that he will prove to be a valuable asset to Abacus and our strategic objectives going forward.” “Tax planning is a key driver in our industry and with continuous changes to legislation and compliance, the requirement to develop and provide suitable tax planning structures is important for our clients.” Andrew is ACA qualified and holds over 10 years offshore tax experience. Andrew has previously worked for Abacus however joined Deloitte Isle of Man in 2004 as a Senior Tax Manager.
