by isleofman.com 18th May 2011
The 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games Organising Committee is pleased to announce that tickets for the CYG2011 Opening Ceremony and the seven sporting events will go on sale to the public from Monday 13 June. Ticket prices range from ?6 to ?15 for events which take place between Wednesday 7 September and Sunday 10 September. With the exception of the swimming and gymnastics venues which have limited seating, concessions are available at all sporting events for children under 16 and senior citizens over 60 and also for disabled groups plus their carers. Geoff Karran, Chairman and Games Director of CYG2011, said: ‘Spectators are advised to get their tickets sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. All events are a ‘must see’ with the best young athletes from 69 nations of the Commonwealth competing to win the much coveted CYG2011 gold medal in each discipline.’ Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Gymnastics, Rugby 7s and Swimming are all ticketed events. The three Cycling events are free to spectators (no tickets required) including access to the Grandstand for the Road Race on Saturday 10 September – an ideal opportunity for the whole family to see a top class field of young sporting talent. Manx residents can purchase their tickets from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal and the Villa Marina Reception or via the Ticketing Hotline on 01624 600555. Off-island spectators can also purchase tickets from the above ticket outlets or alternatively contact Regency Travel, the CYG2011 Preferred Travel Agent to arrange a travel, accommodation and ticket package. Email Regency Travel at richard@regencytravelholidays.com or by phone on (01624) 694456. Don’t miss out on your chance to enjoy the best and most prestigious sporting event ever to be hosted by the Isle of Man. ENDS
