Conquest at Castle Rushen This Weekend

Keep a lookout! Conquest has travelled from afar to join forces with local soldiers at Castle Rushen this weekend! A troupe of premier re-enactors will perform living history, occupying a tented encampment in the Castle grounds on 21st and 22nd May. Open from 10am to 5pm for the weekend visitors will step back in time and see what life was like in the 13th century. Learn the skills that were required of a castle garrison 800 years ago, and re-live the sights, sounds and smells of the era. Watch battle demonstrations as knights engage in combat in the camp arena and talk to the experts about their authentic arms and armour. Discover food, fashion and surgery 13th century style, and have a go at a “harmless” game of medieval Merrills! Enjoy a hog-roast and refreshments in the grounds and wander through the Castle and discover life in a fine medieval fortress and the story of the Kings and Lords of Mann. The event takes place this Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May, 10am to 5pm. Tickets are priced at ?10 per adult, ?5 per child (free entry for infants 2 years and under). Tickets are now available from The Manx Museum Heritage Shop, Castle Rushen and The Old Grammar School. ENDS
