Yn Chruinnaght festival has released an exciting CD of Celtic music called The Gathering. The Gathering features twelve tracks donated by artists who have played at the festival in the Isle of Man over the years. The Gathering CD will raise vital funds for future events. It costs ?10 and is available from Peter Norris Music (Douglas), Shakti Man (Ramsey) and from Yn Chruinnaght Committee members.

The Gathering CD will appeal to the many fans of Celtic music and to anyone interested in finding out more about our rich and varied Celtic cultural heritage. It features the traditional sound of the harp, fiddle, bagpipe, with many other instruments, as well as songs in the Celtic languages.
“It’s a fantastic celebration of some of the wonderful music and performances that make Yn Chruinnaght so special,” said Breesha Maddrell, Manx Music Development Officer.
The Gathering CD also contains some previously unreleased material. The featured artists are Leski (Cornwall), Trio Froger (Brittany), Sheear (Isle of Man), Never Mind The Bocs (Wales), Leo McCann (Scotland), Pipedown (Scotland), Staa (Isle of Man), Scoot (Cornwall), Imrama (Ireland), Rachel Hair (Scotland), ChAI hA DichAI, with vocals by Lors Landat (Brittany) and Mabon (Wales).
“We’re really grateful to the artists who’ve donated tracks,” said Bob Carswell, from the festival committee. “It’s a real win-win situation – the CD itself is a joy to listen to, and the great thing is that sales of the CD will help Yn Chruinnaght to bring performers together at future gatherings.”
