Wet ‘n’ Wild Programme for Out2Play this TT

by isleofman.com 27th May 2011
The Children’s Centre Out2Play scheme has a fun packed TT schedule in store for youngsters this summer. It all starts in Onchan on Friday June 3 from 10am to noon with more activities in locations across the Island planned for the rest of the TT period. As always, the sessions are run by The Children’s Centre Playworkers, supported by volunteers, and as well as offering a chance to play, it is also a good opportunity to meet new friends. Sessions are open to children aged four to 11. Chris Gregory, Playwork Development Officer at The Children’s Centre, said: “Regardless of the weather this TT holiday Out2Play will be getting wet! Children are invited to bring their own water squirters to take part in some massive water fights, but don’t worry if you’ve not got one we’ll have a few you can use. As well as water fights there will be lots of other things for the children to do, including rope swings and den building. But with the water slide also returning everyone will be returning home soaked to the bone.” The full list of Out2Play session this TT period is as follows: Friday June 3 Onchan - Kick About Field behind Onchan Pleasure Park - 10am to noon; Bride - Millennium Field - 2pm to 4pm. Monday June 6 Laxey - School Playground - 10am to noon; Port Erin - Rushen Primary School - 2pm to 4pm. Tuesday June 7 Peel - Clothworkers School field - 10am to noon; Castletown – Pulsom Park - 2pm to 4pm. Wednesday June 8 Foxdale - School field - 10am to noon; Jurby - School field - 2pm to 4pm. Thursday June 9 Ballasalla - Abbots Wood playing field - 10am to noon; Douglas – St. Mary’s School field - 2pm to 4pm. In 2010 the Out2Play scheme recorded its best ever year with more children than ever before attending play sessions during school holidays. A total of 3,700 children took part in last year’s scheme, an increase of 1,200 on 2009. Out2Play is a charitable project of The Children’s Centre.
