CYG2011 Team Liaison Officers Appointed

by isleofman.com 1st June 2011
The first volunteer appointments for the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games have been made – the Team Liaison Officers (TLOs) – and 75 of them attended a briefing session at the Villa Marina on Sunday 22 May 2011. One TLO will be appointed to each visiting nation (two for the bigger nations) and also to the Commonwealth Games Federation VIPs. They will be the first point of contact for the teams and will provide a vital link between the nations and the CYG2011 Organising Committee. Facilitated by the CYG Volunteer Committee, members of the Organising Committee presented to the TLOs, updating them on progress to date and providing an insight to the important role they will be playing in the Games. Volunteer Co-ordinator Victoria Karran said: “We are delighted with the appointment of the TLOs and it was great to get the opportunity to meet the majority of them on Sunday. This group of volunteers are key to the smooth running of the Games and we are grateful to have them on board.” A further session will be held in June for those unable to attend.
