Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineers From UK and Europe Visit Pulrose Power Station

by isleofman.com 1st June 2011
The MEA recently hosted a visit from the IDGTE (Institution of Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineers) with a tour of the MEA’s power plant at Pulrose. Delegates travelled from the British Isles and Europe in order to meet with MEA counterparts who are considered to be some of the best in their field. Generation Manager, Alan Cubbon said, “Institute Members were extremely impressed with the facility at Pulrose and the exemplary way in which it is maintained by the MEA team, which is high praise indeed and excellent recognition for us all. Indeed they were very complimentary about the Island also and managed to enjoy some free time visiting the likes of Laxey Wheel and Douglas Horse Trams.” The institution has branches in Canada and the Middle East & North Africa and plays a pivotal role in supporting engineers in registration with the Engineering Council (UK) as Eng. Tech. Ends
