Manx2.com and Hospice Isle of Man have raised a chequered flag at Isle of Man Airport as the TT festival swings into action. For the duration of the event, passengers travelling with Manx2.com will be greeted on arrival and given a ‘goody’ bag.
A Kawasaki ‘Ninja’ bike from Jason Griffiths Motorcycles has been positioned in the check-in area, and bike fans will be able to have their picture taken on the machine, in exchange for a donation to Hospice Isle of Man, Manx2.com’s charity of the year.
The goody bag, supplied by Manx Telecom, contains information and leaflets from Isle of Man Tourism, Domino’s Pizza and Mylchreests. There’s also an opportunity to win two Manx2.com ‘Gold Class’ flight tickets for next year’s TT.
Chairman of Manx2.com Noel Hayes said: ‘The TT period is one of our busiest times and in addition to an increased number of flights on well-established routes, this year; there are special TT flights between Cardiff and the Isle of Man.
‘We hope lots of passengers take the opportunity to have their picture taken on the amazing Kawasaki motorbike and make a contribution to Hospice Isle of Man, a charity which helps so many local individuals and families every year.’
Manx2.com has nominated Hospice Isle of Man as their charity of the year for 2011 and are donating 52 flight tickets, one for every week of the year.
Hospice PR & Marketing Manager Mary Doyle said: ‘Thanks must go to Jason Griffiths Motorcycles for lending us the motorbike and to Manx2.com for co-ordinating everything. We have costs of ?3.5 million to meet every year and are grateful for all contributions and donations.’
