Fatal Road Traffic Collision

At approximately 6.15pm on Thursday 2nd June 2011 a fatal road traffic collision occurred on the Claddaghs Road, Sulby, near to the Ginger Hall public house. The incident involved two vehicles; a red coloured Norton motor cycle/sidecar combination which collided with a parked and unattended Peugeot 206 motor car. As a result of the collision the rider of the motor cycle outfit received fatal injuries. The passenger from the motor cycle was detained in Nobles Hospital with a head injury. The road was closed for approximately 4 hours while Police conducted enquiries at the scene. At the time of the collision there was a large number of people in the area who had gathered for the evening TT Race practice session. Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision to make contact to assist with the investigation. The next of kin of the motorcycle rider and the Coroner of Inquests have been informed. ENDS
