by isleofman.com 3rd June 2011
At approximately 9.45 am on Friday 3 June 2011, a three vehicle road traffic collision occurred at the above location. The collision involved a red and white coloured Honda CBR 600 RR motorcycle, a black coloured Suzuki GSXR motorcycle and a marked Police Range Rover Vehicle. The Range Rover vehicle was stationary at this location whilst Officers were dealing with a separate collision which had happened earlier. The Honda motorcycle has slowed behind the Police vehicle, but has been struck from behind by the Suzuki motorcycle, prior to the Suzuki motorcycle colliding with the rear of the Police vehicle. The rider of the Honda motorcycle was unhurt, but the rider of the Suzuki motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was taken to Nobles Hospital by ambulance. The road was closed for approximately four hours whilst Police conducted enquiries at the scene. At the time of the collision, the Mountain road was busy and a large number of people passed through the scene. It is thought the occupants of a campervan type vehicle may have witnessed this collision. Police would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the collision or remembers seeing any of the vehicles described immediately before the collision. Any person who may be able to assist is requested to contact Police Headquarters on 631212. ENDS.
