Four staff members of the Douglas company Caledonian Fund Services (Europe) Limited have recently passed prestigious examinations and received recognition from their professional governing bodies.
Caledonian’s Managing Director Tina Corteen paid tribute to the continued successes of Paul Clague, Sara Collister, Andrew Coulthurst and Mark McCarrick. Said Tina: ‘I am proud of what they have achieved which is as a result of dedication and a lot of hard work.
‘I know how difficult it is to study at night whilst working. It is not easy to maintain a healthy work-life balance while, in the case of Paul and Sara, also having to juggle the commitments which go with having a young family.’
Compliance Manager Paul Clague has attained Individually Chartered status with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. In addition, he has just passed – with distinction - the International Compliance Association diploma in anti-money laundering.
Paul, who lives in Ballamillaghyn with partner Stephanie and their 19 month old son, has recently returned to the Island from Guernsey where he was group Head of Compliance for IPES, one of Europe’s leading providers of fund administration and outsourcing services to the private equity industry. He was responsible for the compliance side of the business in the European locations of London, Luxembourg, Jersey and Guernsey and was compliance officer and money laundering reporting officer to over 50 regulated entities.
Sara Collister, Caledonian’s New Business and Billing Manager, completed the Award in Risk in Financial Services under the auspices of the Institute for Securities and Investment. She is now an associate member of the Institute. Sara is married with children aged two and six and lives with her family in Port Erin. She is a keen sportswoman, listing netball as one of her main leisure activities.
Senior Fund Accountant Mark McCarrick is also heavily involved with sport, playing for the Douglas football club, Gymnasium. He has now completed his examinations and achieved chartered status with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Fund Accountant Andrew Coulthurst, completed his CAT examinations in December 2010 and has progressed to studying the ACCA. Andrew lives in Port St Mary with his partner Megan. During his spare time, he enjoys swimming, reading and playing the guitar.
