by isleofman.com 9th June 2011
The Speaker of the House of Keys, Hon Steve Rodan, is to attend the British Irish Interparliamentary Assembly in Cork on Monday June 13 and Tuesday June 14. The Taoiseach, Mr Enda Kenny T.D., will address the Assembly and take questions from the floor. Mr Simon Coveney T.D., the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Marine, Mr. Frank Ryan, Chief Executive Officer, Enterprise Ireland, and Mr. Niall Gibbons, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland, will also address the Assembly. The plenary sessions of the Assembly take place twice a year. The 41st plenary of the British Irish Parliamentary Assembly took place in the Isle of Man in November 2010. Mr Speaker said: ‘I am looking forward to attending the conference of the British Irish Parliamentary Assembly in Cork and to hearing the Taoiseach speak. The British Irish Parliamentary Assembly is an important forum for ensuring that the voice of the Isle of Man is heard by representatives from all parliaments and assemblies in the British Isles.’ -ends-
