Serious Road Traffic Collision

Police are trying to trace a number of persons who have been present in the area of the Laxey to Ramsey Coast Road and the Hibernia Road junction at the time of a serious road traffic collision. They would like to speak with a number of motorcyclist who pulled out from the Hibernia Road and turned right towards Laxey immediately prior to the collision. One of the riders is described as being a female. Police would still like to speak to anybody who witnessed the collision or remembers seeing any of the vehicles involved immediately before the collision. Any person who may be able to assist is requested to contact Police Headquarters on 631212. ENDS. At approximately 3.45pm Thursday 9th June 2011, a four vehicle road traffic collision occurred at the above location. The collision involved a red coloured Honda Deauville motorcycle, a white coloured Triumph Scrambler motor cycle, a red coloured Renault Megane and a white coloured Vauxhall Movano van. The pillion passenger on the Triumph motor cycle sustained serious injuries and was taken to Nobles Hospital by ambulance. No other persons were injured as a result of the collision. The road was closed for approximately four hours whilst Police conducted enquiries at the scene. At the time of the collision, the Laxey to Ramsey Coast Road was busy due to the TT Course being closed for racing. Police would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the collision or remembers seeing any of the vehicles described immediately before the collision. Any person who may be able to assist is requested to contact Police Headquarters on 631212. ENDS
