Senior Race Day Launch for Ramsey RNLI Lifeboat

by isleofman.com 13th June 2011
Ramsey RNLI lifeboat, the Ann and James Ritchie, was launched at 4.30 pm on Senior Race Day (Friday 10th June) to go to the assistance of a day fishing boat at Port Moar. The 23 foot vessel, with one person on board, was anchored at the south end of Port Moar. At the end of his days fishing the skipper discovered that the boat’s engine would not start and alerted the Coastguard, who requested that the lifeboat be launched. The lifeboat was on scene by 4.50 pm and took the casualty safely in tow back to Ramsey harbour. The lifeboat returned to station, was re-housed by 7.00 pm and its volunteer crew stood down. Ends
