Call for Volunteers for Isle of Man Audience Research

by isleofman.com 21st June 2011
Manx National Heritage is looking for volunteers to carry out a survey of visitors to 13 different attractions across the Isle of Man. This survey is part of a wider project to produce an audience development plan for Manx National Heritage. We’re looking for bright, friendly individuals (18 years old or over) to interview visitors as they leave the attractions. The questionnaires will take about 10 minutes to complete. By commissioning an audience development plan, Manx National Heritage will gain a better understanding of our existing visitors and how they view our heritage attractions, collections and activities. It will also help us to attract new and wider audiences whilst improving the overall experience for all our visitors. Volunteers will need the self confidence to approach visitors and the ability to maintain a polite, friendly and impartial manner at all times. Previous experience would be useful, though not essential. All volunteers will receive a briefing pack and briefing sessions will be held for volunteers, covering the following areas: · Background to the project, the aims and objectives; · The Market Research Society Code of Conduct; · How to conduct a face to face interview; and · Individual roles and responsibilities. Volunteers are needed to carry out interviews from Sunday 3rd July to Sunday 24th July, between 11.00am and 5.00pm. Briefing sessions will be held for volunteers on Friday 1st July and Saturday 2nd July, 2.00pm to 4.00pm (if you can’t attend a briefing session, but would still like to volunteer other arrangements can be made). Spirul, an independent research company, is working with Manx National Heritage on this project and will be helping to support and coordinate volunteers. If you can spare some time to help and would like to volunteer to carry out some interviews please complete and submit the VOLUNTEER SIGN UP FORM available at www.storyofmann.com. Someone from Spirul will then get in touch with you. If you have any questions or need any further information at this stage please contact Spirul on 01484 686377 or email fmnh@spirul.co.uk ENDS
