48 competitors, (12 from the UK) twice as many supporters and a large crowd of spectators. The weekend includes five disciplines spread over two days - swim, kayak, bike, run, climb. Geoff Corkish, MHK, officially started the race at 10am on the Saturday morning at Laxey beach. Teams of 4 competitors from the corporate sector as well as coastguard, adventure club and the event official sponsor PricewaterhouseCooper. The winning team was the Adventure Club Outsiders, captained by George Shaw. The climax on the Sunday was a 40ft crane at Fenella beach, with pairs of competitors racing up a vertical rope. Following the prize presentation, a social BBQ was held at Ballabrooie, the Adventurous Experience's base. Four of the teams then took part in a complimentary Coasteering session round Peel Castle.
