Thomas Miller (Isle of Man) Limited are delighted to be supporting the Isle of Man Ladies Golf Team for the third consecutive Natwest Island Games which is being held in the Isle of Wight from the 25th June. As part of the support, the ladies have received a different coloured specialised golf top for each of the 4 days of the event (as well as a fleece and a waterproof to combat the British weather!)
The team for the 2011 Natwest Island Games consists of previous members Emma Harris, Shirley Glover and Cath Preston as well as two new members Joy Morris and Sue Kinrade (Team Manager).
In 2009 Emma finished an impressive 6th overall in the individual event, out of 43 competitors, with the rest of the team all positioned in the top 30. The ladies finished 6th in the overall team event which they hope to improve on this year.
Since the Island Games in 2009, 15 year old Emma has had some incredible results including most recently becoming the Lancashire ladies champion as well as being selected to represent England at the Scottish Under-16 open strokeplay championship.
Team member Shirley Glover, who is also an employee of Thomas Miller said ‘We are once again thankful to Thomas Miller for all their support. The kit is fantastic and we are all looking forward to wearing it at the Games. I am sure we will be the envy of the lady golfers once more and you certainly won’t be able to miss us! With a mixture of experience and new blood, we have high hopes for both the team and the individual members this year.’
Christopher Smith, CEO of Thomas Miller Investment (Isle of Man) commented, ‘We are delighted that Thomas Miller are able to support the team for a third consecutive games. We recognise that sport, golf in particular, is a central part of the island’s community and we are proud to be associated with the team. We wish them all the best for the games and hope they enjoy the experience.’
