Ramsey The ‘Space’ To Be In Manx National Week

by isleofman.com 24th June 2011
With NASA astronauts making a flying visit, performances of Manx music and dance, a food market offering cup cakes, curry and much more, guided walks and bus rides and a whole host of other attractions, Ramsey is the place to be to celebrate Manx National Week. Chairman of Ramsey Town Commissioners Captain Nigel Malpass said: ‘The week promises to be an inspired mix of the past and the present, so we are delighted that the NASA astronauts who flew the space shuttle Discovery’s final mission have found time in their schedule to come to Ramsey and also that the town will be helping commemorate 100 years to the day on July 3 of the TT senior race with the TT Mountain Challenge organised by the Vintage Motor Cycle Club. ‘As the early stages of regeneration in the town are being identified, there has never been a better time for Ramsey to be celebrating with this packed Manx National Week programme of events that promotes local heritage, talent and creativity while also supporting Ramsey businesses and encouraging civic pride.’ ENDS
