Sixth Formers Inspired to Help ‘Save the Children’

A talk by Claire Bader (Member of the Isle of Man Overseas Aid Committee) inspired 6th Form History students at Queen Elizabeth II High School to raise nearly ?800 for the ‘Save the Children’ Fund. Claire gave an engaging first-hand account of the difficulties faced by humanitarian workers responding to foreign crises, such as working in areas where local conflict means there are constant threats to safety. One of the students, Callum Harper, expressed the students’ feelings, 'Hearing Claire talk about her work in these danger zones with such passion left us with the feeling that we can and should be doing more to help. While non of us could actually volunteer in a conflict zone, we wanted to contribute by running a non-uniform day in aid of the Save the Children Fund’ Ends
